I showed some pics of the strawberries we picked a few days ago. And I mentioned that we pick all of our berries for the year during the picking season. So we headed back for more and found that the blueberries were ready too.
It is really easy to freeze them. First we rinse them in a strainer or colander. Then we lay them out on a cookie sheet to freeze. Once they are frozen we place them inside ziploc freezer bags and place back into the freeer for easy and long term storage. We mostly use them for smoothies, but you could thaw and bake with them as well. Once you empty the ziploc bags, these can be washed and reused again and again.
