Merry Christmas
I wish you a holiday filled with family and friends, filled with happiness that never ends.
I do have a couple of pics from Rite Aid and Wegmans stops, but don't know if I'll get to them before Christmas. And I bet you are just as busy. So I want to take a moment and thank you for visiting my little blog this year. I hope that you have the best holiday season.
I also know that this time of year can be tough. I know it has been tough for us!! So here is a poem that I post at work and home to remind me the be thankful and happy with what life has given me.
Be Thankful
Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire.
If you did, what would there be to look forward to?
Be thankful when you don't know something,
for it gives you the opportunity to learn.
Be thankful for the diffiult times.
During those times you grow.
Be thankful for your limitations,
because they give you opportunities for improvement.
Be thankful for each new challenge,
because it will build your strength and character.
Be thankful for your mistakes. They will teach you valuable lessons.
Be thankful when you are tired and weary,
because it means you've made a difference.
It is easy to be thankful for the good things.
A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who
are also thankful for the setbacks.
Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive.
Find a way to be tahnkful for your troubles,
and they can become your blessings.

Frugal and Green
The first is a salt dough.
You'll need:
4 cups of flour
1 cup of salt
1.4 cups of water
paint, glitter, and cookie cutters
I made the dough first and then rolled it like I was making cookies. We used cookie cutters to get Christmas themed shapes and put a hole at the top for a string or hook. You'll want to make the hole a little bit bigger than needed because it might shrink as you bake.
I then baked the "ornaments" at 350 degrees for about 7 minutes.
The hard part was being patient enough to wait for them to cool. Once they did we had a fun time painting and decorating. My 5 year old loved this!
My second idea uses egg cartons. I cut two of the small compartments out and painted white to create a snowman.
We then used felt and paint to decorate. I forgot to take a picture of the final project, but they are quite cute.
I have seen a similar idea turning the 2 egg holes into a penquin.
This week at Rite Aid
Here are some of my plans for Rite Aid this week:
Single Serve Candy
4 for $2 and then get $1 +up
Idea:
buy 6 Dove Candy Bars
buy 2 Milky Way
buy 2 Skittles
buy 2 Reese Peanut Butter Cups
That is 12 candy bars for $6
Then use:$1 off purchase from Video Values
2 - B2G1 Free Dove Q (- $1)
1 - $0.50 off 2 Mily Way
2 - $0.25 off Skittles from Video Values (Nov & Dec)
1 - BOGO Reese coupon from last week's insert (-$0.50)
That makes your oop $2.50 and you get back $3 in +ups :)
And don't forget that this is a great week to grab a pillow pet if that is on your list. There is the $2 +up and the $2 Video Value. Hopefully you can get a great deal for the little on your list. As I see more that I think of I'll share!

Rite Aid Stops
I actually went to 2 different Rite Aids and stopped a couple times trying to find the those toothbrushes I wanted. I ended up with a Rain Check and I am going to stop this week after my favorite Rite Aid has finished unpacking their totes. So once again, I had to change my plans.
Here is what I did:
Trip #1
I used $1 off from Video Values
3 boxes of Apple Jacks $1.88 each
used $1.50/3 from old insert
made these $1.38 each
4 Air Wick Candles $5.99 each (BOGO)
used 4 - $3 off coupons
made all free
got back $3 +up
2 Halls 2/$3
used $1/2 coupon
got back $1 +up
made these $0.50 each
2 Similac $4.99
used 2- $5 off coupons
made these free
Total was $5.14 plus tax. I used $1 coupon and $4 in +ups to pay $0.14 plus tax. And as mentioned I got back $4 in +ups.
I went back again in hopes to find the toothbrushes. They still did not have the Oral B Vitality, so I got these instead:
3 more cereals $1.88
used another $1.50 off 3
made these $1.38
2 packs of batteries $8.77 each
used 2 - $1.50 coupons
made these $7.27 each
I got back 2 - $1 +ups and will get back $5 SCR
(Who doesn't need more batteries this time of year???)
1 more similac $4.99
used $5 coupon
2 more BOGO candles
used 2 - $3 off coupons
4 tape $1.49 BOGO (Paid $2.98 for all 4)
got back $4 in +ups
So in the end I used $3 off $20 from Video Values ($4.14 cereal + $14.54 batteries + $2.98 tape) I had $6 in +Ups. So that's $21.66 - 9 = $12.66. I got back $6 in +ups and $5 in SCR. So it is knid of like I paid $1.66 plus tax for all. I haven't been doing the best with getting my oop low, but I think that this is pretty good for what I came home with. And it was all things that we were in need of... well except for the candles. But I am hoping that they will make good gifts!
How did you do?

Wegmans: Free Ronzoni
Coupons.com has some Ronzoni coupons to print. My local Wegmans recently started carrying the Garden Delight version for about $1.49 (green box). One of the coupons is a $0.75 off 1 for the Garden Delights. This will double nicely to give you free pasta!!! And don't forget, you can print through swagbucks and earn some points as well. Use zip 22213 if you can't see it.
Well, it's Friday. And that means mega swagbucks day. Today you have a better chance of getting higher amounts when you search. I got twelve bucks for my search this morning and will try for more later. I seem to get swagbucks when I search for some of my favorite blogs. It works almost everytime. You might have to do three searches before you get rewarded, but that only takes a couple minutes. I have earned thousands of swagbucks in just a few months. I used them to earn Amazon giftcards and just made my first order... totally free. And right now you can get 60 swagbucks to start you off. You just need to enter the code JoinIn2010.
Be sure to search often. I get points three times a day - most days! And don't forget to use the coupon featuer as well. It is great to earn points just for using coupons.
Have you signed up yet? It is free and it is easy. Go here to get started.

Have you signed up with Wegmans?
I just found an email from Wegmans with a coupon in it!!! $1 off $5 purchase of meat. This would be great to pair with a "reduced for quick sale" or just off your everyday purchases. It is hard to find ways to save on meat!!
If you haven't signed up yet go to www.wegmans.com

Free Coke
Do you enter codes with My Coke Rewards? I do. I actually get a ton of migraines and sometimes just a little caffeine will help get rid of them. I had to find ways to get rid of them without meds when pregnant and breastfeeding...
Anyways, the Wednesday deal is that you can get a coupon for a 12 pack of coke for only 30 points. It is usually 240 points. And you can order more than one!!! This is only good today, so if you have the points head over there to order your coupon.
NoMoreRacks $10 credit
s
I have been trying to keep up with all of these companies offering free credits. Here is yet another offering a $10 credit. It is called No More Racks. They do have items under $10 from time to time like these Squinkies that sold out at $9.
And if you invite friends you can get free prizes. Check it out here. The website says there is only 48 hours. So if interested, sign up now.
If you need a coupon code use P1071 or P1070... Thanks For the Mommas.

Rite Aid Ideas
Well, I live in the Rochester area of New York and I have been hit hard with snow. So I didn't even try to get to Rite Aid yet. And you know what, I feel like I don't have the out of pocket money to do much there either. But anyways, here are some ideas that I came up with. Remember that my ideas are based on my family's needs and you may want to substitute one item for another. Hopefully this just gives you a starting point. I also know that many of you have $5 off $25 from Redplum still left. I do not....
Idea #1
2 - Similac $4.99
use 2 -$5 off from 12/5 RP
(Will be donating or giving to a neighbor)
4 Airwick candles $5.99 BOGO
use 4 - $3 off from 11/14?? SS
get $3 plus up for spending $10
(I am hoping these will be a nice addition to gifts)
2 - Ecotools bogo 50%
I'll be looking for $2 versions (so I'll spend $3 total)
get $5 +up for buying 2
(no coupons needed)
4 - Reeses single serve candy BOGO
use BOGO coupons from 12/12 to make free
(stocking stuffers!!!)
2 - Rite Aid Invisible Tape $1.49 BOGO
get $2 in +up ($1 for each)
3 boxes of Kellogs cereal $1.88 each
use $1.50 off 3 from
4 - Halls 2/$3
use 2- $1/2 from 11/7 SS
(use VV if they are the right size $0.50 off)
get 2 - $1/2 +up
I will also use $1/1 from Video Values. So I would end up paying $11.63 oop. I have $6 in old +ups to put towards this. So my oop would be $6.63. Your's may differ. I would then get back $12 in +ups.
Idea #2
Then I would purchase the Oral B Vitality (my daughter's dentist recommended this and we had one but my son destroyed it... so great time for a new one)
$21.99
I will use $10 coupon and $3 off $20 from video values and then $8 from the +ups. I will have to pay $0.99 plus tax and will get back $5 in +ups. (I would now have $9 +ups left from last 2 transactions)
Idea #3
2 Duracell Batteries ($8.77 each) $17.54
use 2- $1.50/1 Duracell coupons
and use the $9 in +ups
and I'll use another $1/1 from Video Values
so I'll pay $4.74 oop
I'll get back $2 +ups and submit for the $5 SCR (When you spend $15)
In the end, I will need $17.36 oop and will have gotten back $19 in +ups (but I will only end up with 2 going towards next week) and $5 SCR. I am hoping that my SCR will come in the mail to help with the oop soon!!!

Most of the deals at Wegmans right now end either 1/1/11 or 1/22/11. And as usual, I will update as I find more. You can see all of my Wegmans posts here.
Do you still have your Gilt $20 credit?
I don't belive that you can sign up for this credit anymore at Gilt, but if you were holding on to it, they just brought back the Melissa and Doug toys!!!
They do have some toys around $9 and $10. So with shipping and tax it would only be a few dollars out of pocket. I ordered the last time they had these toys and the shipping won't be until almost Christmas. My guess is that if you orde now it would be after Christmas, but you could stash away for other holidays or birthdays.
Personalized Books on Gaggle of Chicks
Now this really isn't a "deal" but I thought it was cool:
Right now you can get a Personalized book from Paper Hat Press through Gaggle of Chicks for $19 (if you have the $10 credit).
It isn't a book that just has your child's name in it a couple times... You actually get to personalize quite a bit of it. Here is a blurb from the site:
Our deal for Little Star–the third and most recent creation by the Academy Award winning team of illustrators and designers at Paper Hat–allows you to create your own book with your child’s name and various other clever details. (Favorite foods, family values, sibling names, etc.) Drawing on the intuitive technology, the process of creation is fun for the whole family. The final product is a keepsake for life, not to mention the perfect Christmas gift!
I bring this up because my little love got a fairy/princess version of a book like this last year from my mom and she just LOVES it. I have no idea how much it cost my mom, but would guess it was expensive with all of the personalizing. It is a gift that my love will cherish forever. So I just wanted to share with you.
You can still get the $10 credit here.
Free Prints from Snapfish
Usually new members get all the freebies, but here you can be an existing member of Snapfish and get 50 free prints. Add your photos to your cart and use the code HPINK50. You'll get free shipping as well!!! I don't know how long this will last. I just ordered two minutes ago and it went through fine...

Rite Aid Scenarios
I already stopped before December started and grabbed the following:
Pampers $17/2
2 Reeses Peanut Butter Cups 2/$5
2 Hershey's candy 2/$5
Total $27
I used $5 off $25 (While I still could....)
2- $1 off Pampers
2- $1 off candy
$6 in +ups
I was left to pay $12 plus tax and then I got back $6 in more +ups. It wasn't a great deal and I hadn't watched the Video Values for more candy coupons. But I wanted the candy to give out at school as a rewards and I wanted to use my diaper coupons before they expired on the 30th. When you use the dumpster and rely on friends to give you coupons you never know if you'll get more of one kind or not. So I wanted to get the diapers in case I didn't get the December coupons.
(I only buy 2 papers each Sunday - but somehow end up with 10 or so copies within a bit of time by asking people at work, family, and looking in the recycling bin I mentioned in a previous post.)
I am working on another deal because I really need more pantyhose:
2 more bags of candy 2/$5
2 Foamies -craft $$$ BOGO 50% off
2 Nononsense Pantyhose $$$ BOGO FREE
1 Halls $3
I am not sure on some of the prices since I'm not sure which I am going to pick up. I am going to try and keep total near $20.
So then I will use:
$4 off $20 from November Video Values
$1/2 candy
$1/2 Video Value off candy
$1.50/1 RA Video Values
(not sure if they will take $1/1 from RA booklet too)
$0.50 off Halls from Video Values
$5 off Foamies Video Values
(That gets total down to $12 or $13ish)
and then I will use $6 in +ups. To make my oop $6 or $7.
I will get back $2 for candy and $2 for Halls. Again, it isn't totally free, but they are items my family needs and a couple for Christmas:)
If anyone has help with prices please help and I'd love to hear what great deals you got at my fav Store.
Quick Walmart Stop
I have been trying not to have to stop at Walmart. Wegman's prices are usually within a penny and taking two little ones to one less store saves my sanity.(Plus Wegmans doubled coupons and has had better on sale prices lately.) And this time of year I can take all the extra sanity I can get....
Well, I broke down and went in.
I grabbed Tide travel size $0.97
used the $1/1 from P&G to make free
Also grabbed Reach Floss $0.97
used some $1/1 and $3/3 to make free
And got Seapak Popsorn Shrimp $1.58
used $1/1 to make $0.58 each
Here is a pic of one of the items I picked up with Swagbucks. It is a piece for my loves dollhouse that I couldn't find anywhere else. I also ordered a DVD that my hubby wanted for his birthday gift. He has been searching everywhere for this movie and can't find it. I can't wait to see his face. The best part is - I didn't pay a dime. All I did was collect swagbucks for a couple weeks and trade them in for Amazon giftcards. Then I signed up for the Amazon mom program that lets you get free shipping with the Amazon Prime 3 month trial.
If you are at all interested you should check it out. Many people that I tell about the program think it can't possibly work as easy as searching for stuff you already are searching. But it really is that easy. I actually didn't buy into it and it took me months before I signed up. Now I am seeing all of these great deals on Amazon and wishing I had more giftcards from my swagbucks.
Have you signed up yet? It is free and it is easy. Go here to get started.
In my Mailbox
So sorry -once again- for the lack of posts.
I have gotten a few things in the mail box worth noting lately:
Mary Kay Samples
Free Metromint coupon
BOGO Healthy Choice Coupon
Free "Food Should Taste Good" coupon
Gift Card from Panera for taking a survey about Panera
$20 check from Ipsos for taking surveys (Isay)
Tag Book from a Leap Frog deal
Cookies from a giveaway win
Whale (plush) from a instant win game
Sample Dove deodorant
Free coupon for Loft Cookies for my loves birthday.
There might have been others that I've put away by now since it has been sooooo long. If you want to get freebies be sure to check out sites like Freebies4mom, forthemommas, and freestufftimes. Taking surveys and signing for freebies really does start to add up. I got half of our
Christmas presents using Swagbucks, giftcards, and survey money. I might not make a whole lot, but it sure helps get a few more gifts this time of the year.

Gaggle of Chicks
Here is yet another company offering a credit if you sign up with them.
This one is called Gaggle of Chicks - where moms flock for great deals. Each looks like each deal lasts 48hours. If enough moms buy in it "hatches." I don't really know a whole lot about it or the prices of different deals. The kitchen untensil above are selling for $20 (originally $30) to give you an idea. If you are interested you can go here to sign up.

I decided to do the bulk of the shopping for two weeks worth of groceries. And I also stocked up on some time saving goody makers for those times I don't have the extra minutes to make from scratch.

2 Cans Crushed Tomatoes

used $1/2 Kraft printable

I spent about $100 on the above and some other things that weren't great deals, but we needed (bread, milk, some fruits and veggies, etc.)
That is a lot of money for us in one shot, but it is pretty good for two weeks worth of food. Plus, the best part was that when I looked at my receipt, I saved $74 with coupons and my shoppers club card. I don't know if my savings have ever been that high at Wegmans.

And another Rite Aid Stop
I am not a Blck Friday shopper. I actually stay away from most stores on purpose. However, I was down to 2 diapers and made a run to Rite Aid.
Here are my 2 Transactions:
1 Pampers $18.77
1 Got 2B Styler $4.99
2 Cottonelle Wipes $1.88 each
Total: $27.52
I used $5 off 25
$1 off Pampers from P&G insert
$2 off Got2B from All You
$2 off Got2B Video Values
$1/2 Cottonelle VV
$1/1 Cottonelle Printbale
1 Free Cottonelle Coupon from Snail Mail
$12 in +ups
I had to pay $2.64 out of pocket. I got $3 +up from Pampers and $2 +ups from the Cottonelle. I will also get back $4.99 SCR from the Got2b. That is $9.99 back.
Transaction #2
6 boxes of Kellogg's Cereal $1.99 each
Dial Soap $0.99
Bounty Basic $0.77
2 bags of M&Ms 2/$4
Charmin Toilet Paper $9.99
Total $27.69
I used $5 off $25
2 - $1.50 off Cereal from 11/14 RP
$1 off Dial from Rite Aid Booklet
$1 off Bounty from a P&G booklet
$1/2 M&Ms coupon 11/21 insert???
$1 off Charmin (snail mail)
$1.50 off Charmin from RA booklet
$5 +ups from Transaction #1
I paid $9.19 oop and got back $4 +ups from the cereal and $2 +ups for candy.
These weren't free deals, but we had less than a roll of TP and 2 diapers... so they were necessary. I would have paid more for just the diapers alone any where else. To me that is a win!!! Plus the purchases will go towards my Gift of Savings earnings.
Note: If you need Charmin there is a much better deal starting Sunday. Plus my numbers were slightly less than what I posted because of the discount I now get with my Wellness card. Yippee

Frugal Fun
We first traced her hand.
Then we painted her hand so that we could use it as a "stamp".
Then she placed her painted hand inside the tracing.
When the paint dried she added legs and a gobbler.
Afterwards, my love practiced her penmanship by writing Happy Thanksgiving inside each one.
She has already given one to the babysitter and one to her teacher. She can't wait to pass out the rest to family on Thursday!
Rite Aid Stop
I used $5 off $25
$1/2 Dove from 11/14 insert
$1/2 Dove from Video Values
$1/2 Kisses from 11/24 insert
$1/1 Kisses from Video Values
$4 off Sinex from P&G
$2 off Motrin PM from 11/24 insert
$1 off Motrin PM from Video Values
2 BOGO Right Guard Coupons
That's $25.18 in coupons leaving $3.79 plus tax to pay. I used $2 in +ups to help pay.
Then I got back $3 in +ups and will get back another $2 SCR for the Motrin.
I think that I can safely say that my hubby will have enough deodorant for a while. This is the only type he'll use. So I figured I'd grab then while I could.
I will have another Black Friday scenario coming up with Pampers on the list... and just in time. Those small packs in size 6 don't last long. And my 21 month old doesn't seem to want to use the potty as often as I was hoping.

Norah Jones ....Featuring
If a music lover is on your gift list you might consider the CD ....Featuring from Norah Jones. It is a great compilation of songs from the past decade where Norah Jones has worked with a variety of other artists to bring you some great music.
I was lucky enough to receive a copy of the CD before it came out through One2One Network. The second I put the CD in I was taken back to prior CDs and that classic Norah sound. I happen to be a huge fan and really enjoy her music. The great thing about this CD is that there are so many different types of music within one CD. The variations go from Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson to Dirty Dozen and Outkast. It is bound to have a song that everyone will enjoy. It is also so easy to listen to that it makes great background music for get togethers.
For a limited time, you can go to Spinner.com to stream ...Featuring in its entirety for free. Norah Jones' website also has songs and videos that you can view for free. So you can check it out before you buy it. It came out in stores this week, November 16. So if you love it as much as I do you can grab yourself a copy or a copy as a gift!
All opinions are 100% mine. I was given a free CD for review purposed from One2One. I was not compensated for this review in any other way!
Rite Aid Stop 11/15
Here is my first trip this week:
2 Huggies Pure & Natural $8.99 each
3 Gain $0.89 each
6 Right Guard Deo. $4.49 each
4 French's Fried Onions $1.50 each
Before my RA card the total was over $60! That is so crazy. After the rewards card the total was $40.12 plus tax.
I used:
$5 off $25
2- $3 off Pure & Natural
$2 VV Huggies
3- $1 off Gain
3 BOGO Right Guard
4- $1 off French's
That's $33.47 in coupons. I also handed over about $6 in +ups. That left about $0.65 plus tax for me to pay.
I then got back $6 in +up for Huggies and $2 in +ups for French's.
Even if I had to pay the $6.65 oop, this would have been a money maker after the plus ups. :)

Wegmans
I was finally doing some regular grocery shopping yesterday (pic coming) and I noticed a couple things I wanted to share...
1.) The Olay ribbons body wash was now on sale for $4.99. So you could grab the $0.69 Secret and use the $5 coupon to get both for $0.68 plus tax. I know that some of you just love this bodywash :)
2.) Pillsbury Simply biscuits and simply cookies ($2.?9) are on sale. There are coupons that you can print or could have printed from Smartsource ($0.55 off) that would double and make these a little over a dollar.
3.) There are Glad trash bags for $2.79 or so. They do not have draw strings, but some sort of tab that you use to close. If you use the $0.75 off from 11/7 P&G this would double to make them $1.29 or so. If your budget is really tight this might be a great way to go for garbage bags right now. (I have used plastic Wegmans bags for weeks in the summer when I didn't have the money for actual garbage bags, but they fill up quickly!!!
To see all other Wegmans deals and posts you can go here.

Fed Ex brought this over...
My love turns five this month and with Christmas coming and trying to get back on our feet after a financially troubling summer, this giveaway win couldn't have come at a better time. I have been on a winning streak. This is one of 3 wins I had this week. They are Brain Quest White Board books for my little love to keep on learning. She loves those workbooks where you can write inside, but she goes through them really fast. This way she can reuse the pages over and over. They are going to make a great birthday gift as well.
I won this on Surviving a Teacher's Salary. Crystal has some great giveaways on her blog and I highly recommend it. And remember that the special giveaways for teachers (Gift a Teacher) starts on her blog on November 28.
Have you gotten anything fun in the mail lately?
